I had several holiday events to attend these last few months and my cousin was raving about the Kitoko Kalani Rice Bran Moisturizing Cleanser, so I went and purchased it from Kitoko Kalani for S$12.90. On the website at the moment, it costs S$9.90 and the packaging is updated. This has a Net Weight of e 100g/3.5 fl. oz.
This cleanser has rice (oryza sativa) bran extract which is believed to be a natural micro-exfoliate (without beads) approriate for all skin types.
I purchased this as I had learnt that Japanese women would put rice bran in a cotton bag and scrub their face and body with it, acheiving a fresh glow to their skin. So even before trying this, I kind of made up my mind that rice bran couldn't be bad for my skin.
This cleanser has a creamy texture to it. As mentioned on the package, you only need a bit of it to cover your face. I squeeze it unto my palm and lather it up, then spread it on my face. It doesn't feel harsh or burn when applied. It's a very neutral, calm-feeling cleanser, you don't "feel" it. I'm someone who likes those menthol facial cleansers because of the cool, tingly sensation.
I use this every morning, and every other night. I haven't experience any effects of the micro-exfoliation. However, when I use this cleanser, my face feels clean and not dry or tight. When I feel a breakout coming, I'll use this at night and see a reduction the next morning. For a basic cleanser that works, this is it.
